Because why not? It actually did quite a bit better than I expected, and the lack of traction (not evident in this picture) I think leveled the playing field with how much heavier I am versus pretty much every other vehicle there.

This is my first post. Am I doing this right?

welcome to oppositelock! You’re doing it right.

Bill Caswell raced a 1980s BMW in WRC races. You can definitely race winter autox in colorado.

Welcome! The Colorado looks great in yellow!

I figured it’s pretty comparable to a Miata. RWD, manual transmission, 4cyl that revs fairly high, 20:1 lb:hp... But with the added benefit of being able to catch rotation on ice/snow before it got too bad thanks to the longer wheelbase.

Thanks! I ordered it from the factory, and it was probably one of the last yellow ones built! Yellow was discontinued for 2016MY (the only thing deleted for 16, in fact).

Judging by your avatar and previous post, I’m guessing you have a soft spot for yellow semi-oddball GM vehicles.

That’s too bad. I’m considering a Colorado to replace my ‘06 Sierra crew cab whenever the time comes, and I want to have a fun color. GM has a bad habit discontinuing their best colors :/

Basically a miata. I can see no difference.

Haha, yes, very much so. M/T Colorado, 04 GTO, and Fiero SE V6 are the three big examples. If I was rich, I’d have many more odd-balls (mostly GM, but not exclusively).

Agreed. I had a feeling that yellow wasn’t going to last despite being late availability in 2015, and so instead of waiting for a 16 I ordered mine in the last week that they were accepting orders for 15s. I’m sure there are still many on the lots, usually crew cab Z71s, though.

Mine will be a crew cab when I get one (I’ve got kids), but the Sierra has lots of life left in it, so it won't be anytime soon.

The extended cab back seats are definitely not for adults. And I recently found out the limit of the party trick that it does. You can take the headrest off the right side back seat and slide it into the seat bottom to make it long enough for a car seat, which totally does work. The thing is, the passenger seat then has to be moved so far forward, that you better hope to have a short passenger.

That is a cool trick, but I still need a crew cab to fit the whole family in. I'm glad they thought of a way to make a baby seat work in a pinch though. It's amazing how freaking big they are!
